“The best part of doing this work is that moment when I see myself in you, and we recognize we’re partners in this journey.”
Nicole Storlie is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with expertise in medication management for a variety of psychiatric conditions. She sees patients from school-age through retirement and beyond. Nicole began her nursing career as a 37-year-old mom of four, having worked for many years in interior design and construction project management. Her broad work experience informs her practice with a more nuanced understanding of how our environment impacts the way we function and how we address mental health.
Feeling called to do something with a bigger impact, she achieved her bachelor's degree in nursing from Washington State University. She started working in public health in Yakima, where she quickly noted the shortage of mental health professionals who worked with children and adolescents.
Waiting lists to get into pediatric care, particularly for children with special needs, would sometimes be years long. This impacted Nicole’s family personally, as well. Her desire to care for children, teens and adults on the Autism spectrum lead her to Gonzaga University where she achieved her Master’s Degree inNursing . Nicole has been in private practice in Yakima since 2019 and joins Kaleidoscope-Rx working from both Yakima and Vancouver.
“Joining Kaleidoscope-Rx is a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with colleagues who share the values I hold closest to me- that all humans are worthy of dignity, understanding, and the highest quality mental health care. It’s an honor to be chosen to join this group of passionate and dedicated professionals. I feel lucky to be able to continue to serve my hometown community while also being able to advance my skills in a diverse and growing community.”
Nicole’s Kaleidoscope:
“My kaleidoscope is made of ocean colors—grounding, a little unpredictable, and always shifting with the light. I see people through a lens shaped by experience, design, and a deep belief that who we are is never separate from where we’ve been. There’s beauty in the mess and meaning in the patterns.”
