Intake Process
To protect privacy, minimize paper, and streamline processes for patients, all intake paperwork is completed online through the Valant MyIO Patient Portal. If you have accessibility needs or other barriers to completing forms or accessing your patient portal, call us at 360.334.9942 and we will work with you to address the issue.

You'll receive an activation email to complete your Valant MyIO Patient Portal. PLEASE NOTE: You'll need to complete your health history and medical forms, AND our practice policy forms before your first appointment.

We'll verify insurance coverage and follow up with you to select your provider and schedule your first appointment.
What To Expect At Your First Appointment:
We believe that understanding your story takes time, which is why our initial intake appointment is 90 minutes. Our patients are our people - and you deserve the best care possible. Your first appointment is all about making sure your provider has a thorough understanding of your mental health needs, challenges, and goals.
Collaborative Care: We work with you to create an individual plan that makes sense for your needs and goals.
Medication Management: Discuss the pros and cons of different medications. Monitor for and minimize potential side effects. Educate you on how medications work and what to expect. Provide regular follow-up care to check progress and adjust as needed.
Thoughtful Approach: We prescribe medication carefully, using evidence-based practices.
Whole-Person Focus: We believe the best outcomes come from combining medication with other treatments, like therapy and attention to your physical health.

Common questions and challenges:

Our team does not provide primary therapy. Your provider will offer brief solution focused therapy on a limited basis. We strongly encourage our patients to find a therapist that fits their individual needs and are happy to provide referrals.

Depending on the provider, we can usually get you in within 1-2 weeks, often sooner if intake forms are complete and we can verify insurance.

We verify coverage and copays so our patients aren't surprised by unexpected costs.
