Tamara Johnson, MSN, ARNP, PMHNP-BC

"Healing isn’t about finding total relief. We may not ever achieve full peace or a complete absence of turmoil. But we can find the places where we experience joy and feel more alive."

“So many people suffer from not having someone who can be present with them in their most vulnerable and scary moments. My goal as a provider is to be there for my patients in a way that helps them reclaim their lives.”

Tamara Johnson is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a grounded and calming style of patient care. She specializes in treating conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and bipolar disorder. Drawing from her background in acute care, cardiac, and SUD nursing, Tammy takes a comprehensive approach, considering the whole person and the relational or cultural context that shapes their experience.

Tammy's path to becoming a PMHNP was shaped by her experiences working in both inpatient psychiatric and outpatient settings, where she saw firsthand the limitations of traditional care. While working in inpatient settings, she was struck by the lack of resources available to patients beyond medication. This inspired her to pursue a more preventive, outpatient-focused model of care.

At Kaleidoscope Rx, Tammy brings her expertise and passion for personalized care to each patient, helping individuals manage complex psychiatric conditions with a treatment plan that integrates psychotropic medications and the other vital aspects of mental wellness: nutrition, healthy movement, and functional self-care. Tammy serves adults from every walk of life, and is especially attuned to the unique experiences women face as they enter adulthood and develop through often complex milestones. Her holistic approach is centered on the belief that people can regain their lives and thrive with the right tools, treatment, and relational support.

Tammy’s Kaleidoscope

"My kaleidoscope would have soft hues of blue and purples as well as varying geometric patterns. These colors evoke a sense of tranquility and peace to me. I think the beauty lies in how each cycle is unique, offering a new perspective that is always changing."
