Victor Gomes, MSN, PMHNP
Victor (he/him/his) is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who values lifelong learning and understands the importance of each individual’s unique story. He is dedicated to supporting his patients in navigating their mental fitness journey with compassion and a collaborative approach. Victor is committed to meeting each person where they are, carefully considering their goals, aspirations, fears, and limitations to create an individualized treatment plan.
Victor’s multicultural background has deeply influenced his approach to mental health care. He moved to the U.S. from Guyana as a teenager, where he formed a lifelong friendship with someone who experienced trauma and loss that affected him well into adulthood. This experience sparked Victor’s desire to help others facing similar struggles. After completing a fellowship in North Carolina and gaining exposure to a wide variety of medical and psychiatric experiences, Victor chose outpatient care to ensure he could build lasting relationships with patients and stay present in their healing process.
Victor joined the Kaleidoscope Rx team because of the fulfillment he gains from being part of a team-oriented environment, where he can work alongside others to provide compassionate care and hold space for those in need. He has a heart for serving people who are experiencing first-break psychosis, offering support during vulnerable and confusing moments.
Victor views medication as one tool in a broader toolbox to help people build the life they want. He emphasizes that mental health treatment is not just about medication, but about engaging with community, fostering hobbies, and creating a balanced life that supports long-term wellness.
Victor’s Kaleidoscope
“I would see the sunrise - the transformation of darkness to light - with all the beautiful hues of orange and red, then blue. It’s one of the most peaceful times of the day, before the chaos starts. And if you’re able to sit and enjoy the calming effect, it sets the tone for the day.”
